In 2020, James O’Toole (Boston College) joined the Cushwa Center project “Gender, Sex, and Power: Towards a History of Clergy Sex Abuse in the U.S. Catholic Church,” as a researcher. O’Toole recently spoke with Cushwa fellow Rev. Stephen M. Koeth, C.S.C., about clericalism, priestly formation, Boston, and the place of clergy sex abuse within surveys of U.S. Catholicism.
