Panels at this symposium will discuss three recent books: Luca Codignola's Blurred Nationalities across the North Atlantic: Traders, Priests, and Their Kin Travelling between North America and the Italian Peninsula, 1763–1846 (University of Toronto Press, 2019); Catherine O'Donnell's Elizabeth Seton: American Saint (Cornell University Press, 2018); and Kathleen Sprows Cummings' A Saint of Our Own: How the Quest for a Holy Hero Helped Catholics Become American (University of North Carolina Press, 2019).
