The Lived History of Vatican II Conference

vatican_logoIn conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the opening and closing of the Second Vatican Council, the Cushwa Center has launched a major research project designed to produce the first comparative, international, lived history of Catholicism in the Vatican II era.

We have enlisted researchers who will write close-grained local social histories of the immediate Council era and its aftermath in fifteen select dioceses spanning every continent.

The project will culminate in an international conference on the Lived History of Vatican II at Notre Dame April 24-26, 2014, as well as the subsequent publication of a coauthored project volume.
