This event, scheduled to take place online on Tuesday, November 16 at 11:00 a.m. EST (5:00 p.m. Rome time), will celebrate the publication of Michael Breidenbach’s new book, Our Dear-Bought Liberty: Catholics and Religious Toleration in Early America (Harvard University Press, 2021). Luca Codignola-Bo (senior fellow, Cushwa Center) will moderate the discussion and John T. McGreevy (Notre Dame) will serve as a commentator in conversation with Breidenbach on how Our Dear-Bought Liberty helps us understand the place of Catholics in early America, and how this history bears on our understanding of American Catholicism from the founding until today.
