The Cushwa Center invites graduate and undergraduate students to take part in its research and programs on campus.
Undergraduate Research and Writing Prize
In 2025, the Cushwa Center inaugurated its Undergraduate Research and Writing Prize, open to students of Notre Dame, Saint Mary's College, and Holy Cross College. Winning entries are published in the American Catholic Studies Newsletter, and their authors receive a cash award of $750. The submission deadline is May 1.

Students from Notre Dame and beyond are welcome at Cushwa’s Dolan Seminars, public lectures, book discussions, conferences, and more.
Research assistantships
Graduate and undergraduate research assistants contribute to the work of the center, supporting production of the American Catholic Studies Newsletter and a range of other projects year-round. Students may inquire about openings by emailing cushwa@nd.edu.
